CEVA Ground Europe (CGE), part of CEVA Logistics is a separate legal entity reporting into the UKIN cluster. CGE operates in a regional European context with a variety of customers across multiple industry verticals where rigorous customer and cost management is essential to build and maintain a sustainable, profitable business. CGE operates 4PL Services across Europe and is responsible for managing cross-border transportation flows for CEVA in Europe (all countries) within an asset-light model.
  • Job description
    The Ceva Ground Europe (CGE) General Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance, plans and policies including day-to-day operational activities, tactical and strategic development of the unit. In addition, the CGE General Manager will drive all customer relationships through close and active collaboration with its current customer base. The CGE General Manager will drive all carrier relationships through close regular contacts and reviews. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall profitability and development of the CGE site in Antwerp. To manage both revenue and cost elements of all functions within the business, both operational as well as financial. To drive the business development of the site in collaboration with the UKIN BD teams. To coach and support all members of the team. To ensure the highest quality of customer service and highest level of operational effectiveness is achieved. To set-up, manage and control process efficiency on site.

     Your key responsibilities are:
    • Deliver key financial metrics as per budget : Revenue, EBITDA, NWC, DBO and DPO
    • Ensure all accounts are profitable and where needed take necessary actions to improve profitability in line with minimum set targets
    • Oversee operations from a helicopter perspective to ensure overall delivery and quality of CGE’s offerings to customers
    • Create and implement a strategy designed to grow the business in collaboration with UKIN business development teams
    • Network extensively within the UKIN cluster and other European clusters to promote CGE’s service offering
    • Lead CGE’s participation in European transport tenders with an active role in pricing and solution delivery
    • Report KPI’s, both internal and external, in an accurate and timely manner and reports operational and financial performance to executive management periodically and ad-hoc (when required)
    • Support statutory administrative activities and keep statutory directors informed regarding the status of the business
    • Evaluate investments needed and create business cases  to support executive management with decision making in key investments in equipment and infrastructure
    • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships within the UKIN cluster and with the broader European ground operations
    • Support central teams with specific projects increasing CEVA’s overall efficiency as a group
    • Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports
    • Drive organizational change and oversee key hiring and talent development programs
    • Sets rules and procedures for employees to follow. This includes setting policies in the workplace to ensure effective implementation and adherence among each and every employee in the operations organization
    • Trains, instructs, coaches and supports direct reports
    • Engage in key and/or targeted customer activities to create solid customer relationships and leverage CEVA’s organization to drive customer relationships to the next level
    • Leads key account management activities by actively managing key customer relationships and participating in periodic business reviews and strategic growth projects
    • Be actively involved in all month end activity to monitor reported revenue numbers as well as profitability at account level
    • Prepare the monthly financial business reviews jointly with the controller and present to executive management
    • Be a spokesperson for CGE and CEVA Logistics during external meetings with business partners, both customer and provider, to ensure operational objectives and performance is presented in accordance with the various contract objectives.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor/ Master Degree or equivalent in a related discipline
    • Demonstrated success in leading, supervising, managing, motivating and developing individuals and high performance teams.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Experience in road/rail/intermodal/shortsea  planning and execution at a European level
    • Sound knowledge of the European transport sector
    • Experience in working within large (international) carrier or transport service provider organizations (knowledge and understanding of efficient communication with drivers, planners, production)
    • Excellent analytical skills & negotiation experience
    • Understanding of the network and business of FM worldwide.
    • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds. 
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
    • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and customers. 
    • Adequate PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office packages
