The end of my adventure
My final blog about my adventures in the Philippines! Wow, what an amazing journey it was. From welcoming the first employee last June in the Logistics office to a brand new office with 170 employees and still counting! Due to the success of insourcing a Build, Infrastructure and Applications team the IT organization is now planning to insource even more teams. The office is already getting too small so we will expand within one year of the start of the first employee. It was crazy at times and not always easy, but I am so proud of what we put together. Do I have the feeling that I am done here? No, not really, there is so much left to do, but I did my best to put the basics in place and now it is time for a local person to take over and further build the HR department and organization. Besides; within HR the work is never done ;-). What I’ve learned the most is to trust that everything will work out just fine. Because in the end it will! You can worry so much about how things will work without one or another thing, but we’ve made things work under sometimes ridiculous circumstances. When I realized that, it released me from a lot of stress. I will for sure miss all the wonderful people I have met, who had faith in me and were flexible and patient when things were not in place yet.
And now what? I will go on a whole new adventure, both professionally as well personally. I will start with a new challenge as Global Learning & Development Specialist back in our Global Headoffice based in Hoofddorp. A completely different role with more than enough challenges for me to keep me going and stay motivated.
I would like to thank all the people I worked with, together we grow; we did and will continue to do so. Salamat Philippines!
